31st July 2014 - During an inspection to make sure that the improvements required had been made
![]() We inspected Wellingborough Road Dental Surgery to check if the improvements needed following our previous inspection on 27 June 2012 had been made. We found that the required improvements had been made. Procedures were now in place to check the medical history of patients before any treatment commenced. We spoke with four patients who used the service. They told us that they were very satisfied with the treatment they had received. They told us that the dentist checked with them their medical history or any changes to their previously recorded history before any treatment commenced.
27th June 2012 - During a routine inspection
![]() We spoke with one person who had been a long term patient at the surgery. They said staff had been professional and attentive to their needs. They said they had “good experiences, the surgery had a lovely atmosphere and staff were friendly and helped you to relax.” They also said that the clinical environment was always clean when they visited. One person we spoke with said they had been given appropriate information and support regarding their care and treatment. We were informed that they had received verbal and written information which had been tailored specifically to their needs. For example: they had been given advice on how to care for their teeth after dental work had been completed. We were told by one person that the dentist identified and discussed treatment options and before the treatment commenced verbal consent had been obtained. They said that they had been involved in and had agreed their treatment plans. The person said he had been given a copy of the treatment plan to take away and it had included information about the costs of the suggested treatment.
