We observed staff treating people with respect, being polite and courteous. People told us they were happy with the care provided and were involved with their care and treatment needs. People we spoke with told us their dignity was respected and confidentiality was always maintained. One person told us, “They are very civil and professional.” Another person told us, “Dignity is fine and everything is explained to me.” People had thorough, detailed care and treatment plans relating to all aspects of their care needs. We spoke with four people who used the service who told us they were happy with the care and treatment they received. One person told us, “The Dentist is excellent and they make you feel very comfortable when you are in the dentist’s chair.” Another person told us, “I am looked after well.” We observed people were treated in a clean, hygienic environment. There were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection. The people we spoke with told us they had no concerns with the cleanliness of the practice. One person we spoke with told us, “It is spotless.” Another person told us, “The cleanliness is very good and the practice is modern.” People were cared for, or supported by, suitably qualified, skilled and experienced staff. Appropriate checks had been undertaken before staff began work. This included carrying out a Criminal Records Bureau check and obtaining written references. There were quality monitoring programmes in place, which included people giving feedback about their care and treatment. This provided a good overview of the quality of the service’s provided.
