22nd November 2012 - During a routine inspection
We saw people were given appropriate information about the service and the care and treatment they received. We spoke with four people who used the service who told us they understood the care and treatment choices available to them. One person told us, "Everything is always explained really well. Jill (the dentist) makes every thing really clear." Care and treatment was planned and delivered in a way that was intended to ensure people’s safety and welfare. People told us they were happy with the care and treatments they had received. One person said, “The dentist is absolutely superb, I couldn’t fault her. Nothing is ever a bother with her and she is so knowledgeable." Another person said, "For someone who doesn’t like dentists, I have no fear about going. I’m always put at ease, and everyone is so pleasant." Staff training was kept up to date so that staff could care for people safely and to an appropriate standard. We found people were protected from the risk of infection because appropriate guidance had been followed. There was an effective system in place to monitor and assess the quality of the service.
