1st January 1970 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We met with two members of staff and spoke to one service user.

We saw that the clinic is situated on the ground floor of an old property in a central location. We saw that there was adequate parking. We saw there was a ramp that could be used to enable people in wheelchairs to easily access the clinic.

People told us that they were able to have an appointment at a time that was convenient and was offered soon after making contact with the clinic. We saw that the telephone was answered promptly and politely. We saw that appointments were offered on saturdays and in the evenings to accommodate people's needs.

We saw that the clinic was in good decorative order but noted that due to the limitations of the space there was no access to fresh air in the consultation room. People receiving care did not identify that as a concern.

One person attending the clinic told us that they felt "fortunate" to have found the clinic and was happy with their treatment. They said that they felt respected and treated with dignity. They said that they felt involved in their treatment and had been offered choices to help them make a decision about ongoing treatment.

We considered that there was a lack of rigor with regard the recording of staff training and professional updates.

We observed staff talking about people in a professional and respectful way.

We saw that people were asked for feedback on their treatment and that comments received were considered and changes made.
