We spoke with two people who used the service and a further two people completed a questionnaire about the service. We found that people had been very satisfied with the service that they received. People commented that the service was “Excellent” and another person said “I came on word of mouth”.

We found that people had been provided with information about their care and treatment. People had been clearly informed when they contacted the clinic that it offered private dental care. People had been fully involved in decisions about their treatment. We saw that people had their needs assessed and that they had been provided with a clear treatment plan. People had been provided with information about their aftercare.

The clinic was clean and hygienic and there were policies in place in relation to infection control. We found that although staff had followed the cleaning schedules this had not been documented and audited fully as required by national guidance. The providers took immediate action to ensure that these processes had been implemented following our inspection.

We found that staff had been required to undergo satisfactory checks prior to their recruitment.

There was a complaints policy in place that had been made available to people who used the service.
