People who used the service told us that they were fully informed before they provided their consent for treatment.

Consultation records were designed for the specific treatment that was offered and completed appropriately. People were asked relevant questions around their medical history and medication that could impact on their treatment.

Appropriate checks were carried out before new employees begun work.

15th February 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

It was not possible to speak to people who used the service during our visit on 15 February 2013 due to appointment arrangements. However, following treatments or consultations people who use the service were asked for their feedback and staff would follow-up on any negative comments. Feedback was requested electronically to make it easy for people and the acting manager told us the uptake was good.

The service ensured that detailed records were made and kept of people’s experiences. The records showed how treatment options had been discussed with people and how decisions had been reached.

We saw that staff ensured people’s safety by taking a medical history and ensuring this was kept current by reviewing it at each visit.

Staff were given opportunities to keep their knowledge updated and current by being supported to attend a variety of training opportunities both internally and externally.
