21st January 2014 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

Before people received any care or treatment they were asked for their consent and the provider acted in accordance with their wishes. One person told us, “The nurse explained everything.”

People experienced care, treatment and support that met their needs and protected their rights. People completed a health check document prior to donation and had thorough detailed donor information records following each visit. People who used the service told us they were happy with the care and treatment they received in the centre. One person said, “[Staff are] very friendly, positive and welcoming, you feel you’ve done a good service by attending. It’s been a positive experience.”

We conducted a tour of the premises and found it was visibly clean and tidy. There were systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection.

We found staff were adequately supported because they received regular training sessions and an annual appraisal.

We saw that the service had provided people with information about how to complain. People who used the service told us their comments and complaints were listened to and acted upon.
