People expressed their views and were involved in making decisions about their care and treatment. We spoke with four people who confirmed they were fully involved in decisions about their treatment plans.

We observed that people’s confidentiality and dignity was respected by the staff at the surgery. This was confirmed by the four people we spoke with. People said they were treated with respect and staff were friendly and helpful.

People experienced care, treatment and support that met their needs and protected their rights. All those we spoke with told us they were happy with the treatment they received and the follow up advice they were given by the dentist.

People were cared for in a clean and hygienic environment. One person said that the surgery was an old house but the providers had taken steps to modernise it and make it welcoming.

People were cared for by staff who were supported to deliver care and treatment safely and to an appropriate standard. One person said, “The dentist always talks me through the treatment and the nurses are very understanding. If I can’t make the appointment and let them know they will give a new appointment to suit me. I have had no problems.”

The provider had an effective system in place to identify, assess and manage risks to the health, safety and welfare of people using the service and others. The provider carried out audits and took actions to address any gaps in their service.
