18th January 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

Patients told us that they had been involved in discussions with their dentist and other staff about the treatments available to them and the costs involved. People felt that their privacy and dignity was respected by staff when they visited. Patients we spoke with were pleased with the service and treatment they received. One patient told us "It is a good dentist surgery." Another patient said "The staff are usually helpful." We were also told, "Very good practice, the staff always polite and will fit us in at short notice."

We found that people felt fully involved in their care and treatment. We saw records that confirmed that all aspects of treatment was consented to, and signed by both the patient and staff.

The surgeries were clean and hygienic with appropriate dental equipment. We saw that the service followed the procedures and policies for appropriate infection control.

We looked at training records that showed that staff received the necessary training and skill development to help them perform their role safely and well. Patients were cared for by staff that were supported to deliver care and treatment safely and to a good standard.
