5th December 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

People who received a service were positive about their care. They all confirmed that they had been involved in decisions on how they wanted their care provided and they had been fully involved in setting up their programme of care.

They were complimentary about the care staff and expressed that they were happy with their care and support. People spoken with did not raise any concerns about the care they received. Compliments that the provider had received included, “My daughter looks forward to every visit Premier Children Services provide and whilst without doubt she is a happier, more content person by the time the visit has ended. Full of fun and laughter,” “I would highly recommend the service, excellent and friendly caring staff,” “They couldn’t provide a better service. For us as a family we always look forward to every visit” and “Absolutely superb.”

There were systems in place for the recording and administration of medication. This helped to ensure that people were kept safe.

There were systems in place to ensure care staff had been appropriately recruited and the required checks had taken place.

12th December 2012 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

People we spoke with said they had been part of the assessment and care plan process and their choices had been taken into consideration. They added that they had been able to make decisions about their care and how they wanted this to be provided.

People using the service told us that they had been in contact with management and that were able to express their views about the service. Although none had used it, they had been made aware of the complaints procedure and received written documentation during the assessment process.

There were systems and procedures in place to help staff identify concerns and respond appropriately to the signs and allegations of abuse. Those spoken with added that they felt safe with the staff and that they considered them well trained.

People we spoke with were complimentary about the service and made positive comments. These included, “You won’t find a better company,” “All the staff are lovely to have around – they are like best friends” and, “They are brilliant.”
