1st January 1970 - During a routine inspection
We carried out this announced inspection on 24 November 2017 under Section 60 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 as part of our regulatory functions.
We planned the inspection to check whether the registered provider was meeting the legal requirements in the Health and Social Care Act 2008 and associated regulations.
The inspection was led by a CQC inspector who was supported by two specialist dental advisers.

Background
Owlsmoor Dental Practice is based in Owlsmoor, and provides NHS and private treatment to patients of all ages.
There is level access for people who use wheelchairs and those with pushchairs. Car parking include space for disabled patients at the front of the practice.
The dental team includes three dentists, two dental hygienists, two dental nurses, one trainee dental nurse and two receptionists. The practice has two private treatment rooms.
The practice is owned by a partnership and as a condition of registration must have a person registered with the Care Quality Commission as the registered manager. Registered managers have legal responsibility for meeting the requirements in the Health and Social Care Act 2008 and associated regulations about how the practice is run. The registered manager at Owlsmoor Dental Practice Dental is the one of the partners who is also the principal dentist.
On the day of inspection we collected five CQC comment cards filled in by patients and obtained the views of 11 other patients.
During the inspection we spoke with the principal dentist, associate dentist, one trainee dental nurse and a receptionist. We looked at practice policies and procedures and other records about how the service is managed.
The practice is open 9am to 5pm Monday, 9am to 6pm Tuesday, 9am - 5.30pm Wednesday and Thursday and 8.15am to 3pm on Friday. The practice also opens every other Monday until 8pm.
