31st May 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

One of the people we spoke with told us they found this dentist to be “the best”. They said that they had asked a question about treatment, during their appointment, and the dentist had taken the time to explain. There was a range of information available for people about the treatments available at the practice.

People were given information about their treatment needs and gave consent after being told what treatment entailed and the costs involved.

The practice ensured that people were comfortable, their needs were met and arrangements were in place in case of emergency.

Staff were aware of the need for safeguarding vulnerable adults and child protection and had reviewed the practice policies and procedures in respect of this.

Good arrangements were in place to minimise the risk of infection and for the decontamination of dental instruments.

Staff told us they socialised outside of work and felt supported. They attended relevant training and appraisals were carried out. We saw there were regular practice meetings held.

At the time of our visit a satisfaction survey was being carried out. People’s comments were positive about the service they received. We saw that arrangements were in place to monitor the quality of service and to maintain good standards.
