31st July 2013 - During a routine inspection

We spoke with two people who used the dentist on the day of our visit. One person told us, “It was first class and wonderful to have a dentist so near to home.” Another person told us, “The whole family comes here.” We examined four records during our visit and we saw notes had been completed for each visit. The person’s consent had been sought, options discussed and the treatment plans had been completed.

The practice was clean and well maintained. The dental nurse showed us the decontamination room and how instruments were cleaned and sterilised. We also saw the staff files containing continuous professional development information of how the staff kept their skills and knowledge up to date

The practice had good quality monitoring systems in place which were designed to ensure that equipment was serviced and maintained as required.
