Information about people’s experience of S3 Family Dental Centre was gained by speaking with three people attending the practice on the day of our inspection and by speaking with the practice manager and three members of staff. We also reviewed the records of seven people receiving treatment at the practice and reviewed a range of other relevant documents.

Each person spoken with as part of our inspection told us that dentists within the practice clearly explained the care and treatment options available to them, together with the costs of these. One person said, “the dentist always explains the different ways of doing things and the costs.”

People were positive about the practice staff and the care, treatment and support they received at S3 Family Dental Centre. One person stated, “I’m well looked after here.” Another person said, “all the staff act in a professional way and are more than competent.”

People told us that the practice was always clean. Our observations and our review of records demonstrated that people received care and treatment in a clean environment with measures in place to minimise the risk of infection.

We found that effective processes were in place to ensure that people were cared for by suitably qualified, skilled and experienced staff. A system was in place to gather, record and evaluate information about the quality and safety of care provided to people.
