14th December 2012 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

As part of our inspection we spoke with three people before they were called into the surgery to see the dentist. We spoke to them again after they had completed their treatment. One person told us that this was their first appointment at the surgery and that they had received the practice brochure and had been sent a text as a reminder of their appointment. Another person told us; "We come as a family group and have seen several dentists over the years. This dentist we have at the moment is very professional and puts us at ease."

Written information was readily available for people, informing them of the prospective treatment and fees both within the practice brochure and on the treatment plan they were given by the dentist.

We spoke with various staff members, looked at records, policies and procedures and observed people being attended to by staff. The practice manager made available all the records we asked to see and we saw the practice was proactive in obtaining people's feedback.

People told us they felt safe in the surgery and felt confident in reporting any issues of concern to any of the staff employed at the practice. We did not receive any complaints during our discussion but did receive complimentary comments such as; "It's a lovely practice, the staff are friendly and welcoming." "The dentist puts me at ease." "Very professionally run."
