11th December 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

During our inspection we spoke with two people using the service, the provider and four staff including three dental nurses and the hygienist. People told us that they found the staff polite and friendly and were happy with the overall service provided. One person said "I can usually get an appointment at short notice especially in an emergency." Another said "I wouldn't change my dentist, I bring my two children here too."

People said that the dentists took time to explain treatments and costs and made sure they were happy to proceed. Information leaflets were available so people could make an informed decision about the treatment that was right for them.

People's medical conditions were taken into consideration when planning their treatment and arrangements were in place to deal with foreseeable emergencies.

The practice was clean, adequately maintained and infection control guidelines were being followed.

Staff were adequately supported and trained to meet the needs of people using the service and systems were in place to monitor the quality of service provided.
