10th May 2013 - During an inspection in response to concerns
We spoke with two patients, looked at patients surveys and spoke with staff. People were pleased with the care and treatment they received. People felt that the dentists were professional and all staff were "exceptionally nice". Information on dental treatment was available in the surgery via leaflets. People were given a copy of their treatment plan after they saw the dentist. The information in the treatment plans were clear. There were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection. The dental nurse who was the lead for infection control had good knowledge of their policy and was able to describe and give a demonstration of the decontamination process. The surgery had staff meetings regularly where staff could discuss any issues including infection control. One person we spoke with said that the standard of cleanliness in the surgery was "faultless".The results from the patient satisfaction survey were in line with this with 80 out of 100 people rating it as excellent on cleanliness.
12th March 2012 - During a routine inspection
People we spoke with said they received good information and the dentist discussed treatment options with them. This enabled them to make an informed choice. People we spoke with indicated that they were satisfied with the treatment provided by Lupus Street Dental Practice. People did not have any concerns or complaints and found staff friendly and professional. People who use the service commented that the practice was clean and had observed that staff wore protective clothing.
