25th July 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke with five patients, a dentist, a dental nurse and the manager during this inspection.

Patients told us they were provided with choices and understood costs before deciding on treatment. Patients were satisfied with their treatment. One person said the practice "is brilliant." Patients said they were given information on how to maintain their oral health.

The service was prepared for medical emergencies. Medical equipment and drugs were monitored to ensure they were in date and ready to use.

The practice met Department of Health standards on decontaminating dental instruments. The practice was clean and had systems to ensure the risk of health care associated infection was minimised.

Staff received appropriate professional development. Qualified dental staff had up to date certificates of registration with the General Dental Council.
