The visit to the service was announced 48 hours in advance of the inspection. This was to ensure we had the opportunity to speak to the doctor and staff working at the service. We visited the service to establish that the needs of patients using the service were being met. During the inspection process we spoke with five patients, the nurse and the provider.

The five patients we spoke with had all attended Little London Surgery for minor surgery carried out by the provider of Humanitas Healthcare Services Ltd. We received positive feedback from all of the patients we spoke with. One patient told us: “It was really good, very efficient”. Another patient said: “The service was excellent, I couldn’t fault it”.

Patients told us that pre and post-operative information was given to them. All the patients felt fully informed about their procedure and had been given the opportunity to ask any further questions they had. All said they would recommend the service. One patient said: “I have recommended the service on a number of occasions”.

All of the patients we spoke with said that the surgery was clean and tidy and that the doctor and nurse wore protective clothing throughout their procedure. We saw that systems were in place to manage infection control within the premises.
