6th September 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

During our inspection we spoke with one person who used the service, the provider and two members of staff. The person we spoke with said "I recommend this dentist to everyone."

We viewed comments people had given about the service. Comments included "very nice dental practice, professional and caring staff" and "very friendly reception staff."

People who use the service were given appropriate information and support regarding their treatment. The person we spoke with told us "the dentist always explains the treatment options, pros and cons and costs before I agree to go ahead with the treatment."

There were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection. The surgery rooms and the decontamination room were clean, uncluttered, adequately maintained and Infection control guidelines were being followed by all staff.

Staff received appropriate professional development in order to carry out their job roles effectively and meet the needs of the people using the service.

People were made aware of the complaints system. This was provided in a format that met their needs. The provider had a complaints procedure in place and forms were available at the reception if people needed to make a complaint.
