15th January 2014 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

People that we spoke with on the day of our inspection were all happy with the service they received. People were given advice on how to look after their oral health at home and we were told that treatment was well explained. There were systems in place to manage medical emergencies and staff had received appropriate training. The practice was accessible for people using a wheelchair and all surgeries were located on the ground floor.

Staff were aware of their responsibilities to safeguard children and vulnerable adults. There were policies and procedures in place to support them in this.

Suitable guidelines were followed in relation to cleanliness and infection control and procedures were audited on a regular basis. We were told that the audit programme was going to be expanded. However at the time of our inspection we saw that as well as infection control, an audit of radiograph images was also carried out. The safety of equipment in the practice was monitored and tested to ensure that it was working efficiently.

As part of quality monitoring, people who used the practice had opportunity to provide feedback on the service through a satisfaction survey.
