People who used the service were given appropriate information and support regarding their care and treatment. This service provided specialist orthodontic treatment to adults and children who were privately funded and children under a NHS contract.

We found that people were treated with respect and were involved in making decisions about their care and treatment.

We found that the service took account of people’s health before recommending treatment and that people were provided with information to reach informed decisions. One parent told us, “They provided us with a plan with all the costs written down. There were some choices that we went away to discuss”.

People expressed satisfaction with the standard of care and service they received. One person told us, “They are very good and I would have no hesitation recommending them to anyone”.

Staff had been trained in safeguarding people from abuse and the provider had introduced procedures to minimise risk and promote the reporting of any concerns about abuse.

We saw that people were treated in a clean, well maintained environment and that procedures were in place to protect people from the risk of infection.

We found that an effective complaints procedure was in place. One parent told us,” This type of treatment needs cooperation and agreement. I think it’s very unlikely that we would need to complain, but I would be confident about doing so if need be”
