11th December 2018 - During a routine inspection
We carried out this announced inspection on 11 December 2018 under Section 60 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 as part of our regulatory functions. We planned the inspection to check whether the registered provider was meeting the legal requirements in the Health and Social Care Act 2008 and associated regulations. The inspection was led by a CQC inspector who was supported by a specialist dental adviser.
To get to the heart of patients’ experiences of care and treatment, we always ask the following five questions:
• Is it safe?
• Is it effective?
• Is it caring?
• Is it responsive to people’s needs?
• Is it well-led?
These questions form the framework for the areas we look at during the inspection.

Our key findings were:
31st January 2014 - During a routine inspection
Our inspection of this dental practice was discussed and arranged a short time in advance. This was to ensure that we had time to see and speak with staff working at the practice, as well as people registered with the service. People told us that they had been fully involved with the staff about the treatments available to them and the costs involved. Consent was sought before any treatment and information was provided to people about treatment options. One person told us, “There are three words to describe my treatment here. Respect, friendliness and efficiency.” People we spoke with told us they were happy with the service and would recommend the practice to family and friends. One person said, “I have introduced a lot of people to my dentist and they all think it is a wonderful service and thank me for recommending them to the practice.” People we spoke with said everything always looked clean and they were satisfied with the standards of cleanliness. We saw there were good standards of hygiene and infection control in place. Staff members spoken with told us that they felt they were supported by the dentist. We found that staff completed appropriate training to ensure their knowledge and skills were up to date. All of the people we spoke with said that they knew they could speak to a member of staff if they had a complaint. One person said "I haven’t had to complain but I would tell them if I wasn’t happy.”
