We spoke with four athletes and they told us that they were very well supported at the English Institute of Sport. One athlete told us that “It’s got everything you need to be a top athlete on site and accessible all the time”. Other athletes told us that they had access to people that were very knowledgeable about the sport and that they had plenty of advice and support to become the best players they could be.

We found that medicines were well managed.

We saw that arrangements were in place which ensured the health, safety and wellbeing of athletes.

We found that staff were experienced, knowledgeable and qualified for their role.

We found the English Institute of Sport to be safe, effective and well managed.

We saw that there was a range of specialist services available to support athletes, this included sports medicine, physiotherapy, nutrition, psychology strength and conditioning and soft tissue therapy.

We saw that athletes were supported in ways which ensured that they were able to perform to their best and minimise the risk of injuries.

We spoke with athletes who told us that the staff were very experienced and that, “there is a good depth of quality people here”. Another athlete told us that “the knowledge held by staff here at the English Institute of Sport is excellent”.
