22nd November 2012 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke to four people who said the dentist had discussed a range of options prior to providing treatment. People told us they felt the treatment prices were transparent. They were able to choose the treatment they wanted. One person said, “I was able to make an informed choice 100% in the treatment I needed.” A second person said, “I felt involved and in charge of my treatment.” A third person said, “I was able to make a decision on the treatment which was best for me.”

People said, “The practice was very clean and tidy”. One person said, “Staff clean the treatment room between cases.” People told us ” the staff were “very polite and professional.” People said they were aware of how to make a complaint. However, they have never had the need to make one.

We found the service had procedures in place to protect people from the risk of abuse. The service operated in a clean environment to prevent the spread of infection. People were looked after by staff who were appropriately recruited. There was a procedure in place to ensure complaints were responded to appropriately.
