7th November 2013 - During a routine inspection
We looked at how well patients understood the care and treatment they were given. We spoke with two patients who told us they were well informed, they had good explanations from the doctor and they felt the receptionists were very supportive. They told us they felt fully involved in aspects of their care and treatment and they were treated with respect and dignity at all times. We found that patient’s needs were assessed and care and treatment was planned and delivered in line with their individual care plan. Staff received appropriate professional development and they were supported from time to time to obtain further relevant qualifications. We confirmed that all staff had undergone child protection training but staff had not received training in adult protection. We found good processes were in place for monitoring the quality of services provided. Patients were asked for their views about their care and treatment and the results were acted on. There was evidence that learning from incidents had taken place and appropriate actions had been taken.
