22nd May 2013 - During a routine inspection

During our inspection we spoke with five patients who were visiting the practice that day. We spoke with six staff including dental nurses and dentists. We also reviewed patient records and other documentation.

Each patient said they felt well informed about their treatment and were always advised of the individual options available to them. Each patient confirmed that they were treated with dignity and respect. For example, one patient told us “Staff are always courteous and respect you. “

Another patient told us that the dental practice was particularly good because the dentists “Explain everything so you know what to expect.”

During our visit we saw that the treatment rooms were clean and hygienic and patients told us the surgery always appeared clean.

Staff told us that they felt well supported and we saw that they received regular training and appraisals to support them in their respective roles.

Patients expressed satisfaction with the quality of the service. We were told that the dental staff at Stanwell were “Fantastic” and “Brilliant” particularly if people were nervous.
