31st October 2013 - During a routine inspection

We spoke with three people who had used the service, plus the dentist, practice manager and dental hygienist as part of our inspection of the service. We inspected dental records and found they were up to date and maintained in good order.

We found that before any treatment was delivered the staff explained the treatment options and asked for the person’s consent prior to carrying out any dental work. One person told us. “I have been coming here for longer that I can remember and now the whole family come and we have never had any problems.”

There were clear policies and procedures in place with regard to safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults, a complaints policy and clear procedures for the recruitment and induction of staff.
