The four women we spoke with were very positive about their experiences at Gordon house and spoke highly of the staff team. The women were responsible for the running of the house and organised the cleaning rota and menus. They told us they were involved and consulted about their care plans, setting their own goals and choosing what therapeutic areas to focus upon. Women told us they felt safe and had a good understanding of the therapeutic contract and its purpose. Staff working at the home had a good knowledge of both adult and child safeguarding. Recruitment procedures were not always robust as thorough checks were not always completed. There was an effective complaints system in operation.
