25th October 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

People felt they were treated with respect and were involved in their treatment planning. People told us that they were given good information to make decisions. Consent prior to treatment was sought and given. This meant people were fully aware of what the treatment entailed.

People experienced care that met their needs. People told us they were happy with the treatment they received. One person said: “He is the only person I trust to deal with me.” Assessments were undertaken and appropriate treatment was planned and delivered.

People were at some risk due to the lack of arrangements for vulnerable adults. Staff had not undertaken any training and a policy and procedure was not in place to guide them. The provider assured us that this would be addressed immediately. This meant there was a risk to vulnerable people because the staff were not aware how to recognise and report the possibility of abuse. People that we saw receiving treatment told us they did feel safe.

People experienced treatment in a clean environment. The provider had appropriate arrangements in place to ensure the spread of infection was minimised. One person told us: “Everything is nice clean and tidy.”

People felt the quality of the service was good. The provider undertook monitoring and assessing to ensure the service was suitable for people. People told us they felt comfortable to make comments and arrangements were in place to capture people’s opinions.
