13th February 2014 - During a routine inspection

During our inspection we spoke with seven donors. Everyone we spoke with told us they were very pleased with the level of service. One donor told us: “If I wasn’t happy I wouldn’t keep coming back every few weeks”, another donor told us: “The staff are always happy and I have got to know them as I come in every two weeks, they couldn’t be more helpful”.

We found that there was lots of information available for donors so they could make an informed decision whether to proceed to give their blood or platelets.

Staff were well trained and there was information for dealing with emergencies.

Everyone we spoke to told us they would be happy to raise any concerns. We saw information asking donors to provide feedback on their experience of their donation.
