12th October 2011 - During a routine inspection

People told us they were patients at Butler Green House. They said they were there instead of hospital or that they had come from hospital so they could have a few more days to get back on their feet. The patients we spoke with understood that they were there for a short period of time to help them get back their independence before being discharged back home. Patients told us that they discussed with the staff and agreed plans of care and therapy goals. We heard comments such as, “They asked me what I wanted to do and I said I wanted to walk with my stick again"; "They said they’d help me to get going again” and “The plan is to get my confidence and balance back”. Patients told us that staff were "marvellous" and "smashing" and the food was good and the environment was clean.
