13th April 2012 - During an inspection in response to concerns pdf icon

This inspection review was undertaken in response to concerns we had received about poor care provision and infection control precautions and practices.

In discussion with the new manager and the company regional manager we were told some of the issues raised had been happening in the practice. We were told since the new manager had been in post poor practice had been stamped out in the main. They told us of areas where work was continuing to improve safety and care provision for people who used the service.

We spoke with three people who used the practice and they told us they were very happy with the service provided. They felt they were given enough information about their treatment options and relevant fees as well as time to ask questions in order to make an informed decision.

One person told us “they had been recommended to the practice and they would recommend it to others”. Two other people told us they found the practice friendly and appointments were booked in advance. They also said that if an emergency appointment was needed there was never any problem in making one. The number to call for out of hours and emergency treatment was displayed in the reception area.

All three people we spoke with said they were “happy with everything”. They felt confident and comfortable with the practice staff.
