9th August 2012 - During a routine inspection
During this inspection we observed two people receiving care. We spoke with one person who used the service. We also looked at comments on the NHS choices website made by people who used the service. We spoke with the manager an area manager three of the dentists and two dental nurses. We found that people had the information they needed to help them make informed choices about their treatment. People said they were treated with respect and dignity. One person said “Visited this dentist in terrible pain due to a fractured tooth. I was seen by a dentist who was amazing. They treated me with such kindness and respect. I cannot praise them enough, I was so nervous and they put me completely at ease. I would certainly recommend them.” We saw that people had their treatment explained to them, gave their consent to being treated and were asked to sign their treatment plan. People told us they had no concerns about the care and treatment that they received from the dentists at this practice. One person told us “Excellent service friendly faces and a relaxed atmosphere.” We found that people received care and treatment in a clean and hygienic environment. People we spoke with had no concerns about the cleanliness of the environment. We found that staff were trained and supported to deliver care and treatment safely and to an appropriate standard. We found that the provider had systems in place to monitor the service to ensure that people received a quality service. We saw that where people raised concerns the provider acted on them.
