5th July 2012 - During a routine inspection
![]() This was a busy clinic, with dentist practitioners carrying out treatments throughout the site inspection. However, we did speak with a range of people about the service. They included the manager, staff and relatives of patients who were undergoing treatment. This helped us to gain a balanced overview of what people experienced using the clinic. We asked the relatives of a patient to tell us about their experiences using the service. They were positive about the way their relative was treated by staff. They were happy with the care and support shown to them and their relative during the course of their treatment. Comments included, “We have always felt comfortable coming here. Everybody is so kind and patient.” Also, “I came here for some years with my children, staff go that extra mile and you feel respected.” Another comment included, "They are very good at making my partner feel comfortable and less anxious." People we spoke with felt their relative was provided with enough information about their treatment options. Also they were kept informed about how their treatment was progressing throughout the process. Relatives we spoke with confirmed the dentist talked through the treatment process and options the patient had so they knew what to expect. The manager and a dentist we spoke with told us they thought informing people of treatment was important. They told us that, as this clinic provided dental treatment to a wide range of people including, children, and people with special needs including anxieties (phobias). It was essential they felt confident about their treatment. None of the people we spoke with had any concerns about the standard of care and treatment they were receiving. People told us they would be comfortable in raising any concerns if they had any.
