4th December 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke with five people who had visited the practice on the day of our inspection. They said that they were happy with the treatment they received. One person said, “I have been coming here for over 20 years. The staff are very kind and considerate. The dentist is always concern for my wellbeing and they are able to accommodate me at short notice.” Another person said, “The dentist discusses the treatment with me and gives me options of what need to be done. The place is always clean and tidy. I would recommend it to anyone.”

During our visit, we found that information was available to people about the practice, the services it provided and the fees charged. Treatment had been discussed with people so that they were able to make an informed decision. Regular audits of cleanliness and infection control had been carried out so that people received treatment in a safe environment. Staff had received the relevant training and support for the work they did. There was a quality assurance system in place to assess and monitor the quality of service.

The people who use the service told us that they were very happy with the treatment they go. They told us that they had been coming to the Surgery all their lives and that their families all attend. They said that the Senior Dentist was a respected member of the local community and that they felt safe as houses attending. They told us that they were consulted on all aspects of their care and that they were told how much the treatment would cost. They told us that they are always asked about their health and welfare.
