8th July 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

The two people we spoke with about their experiences described how staff were polite and the environment of the scanning room was relaxed and comfortable. People also said the procedure was explained and risks were also highlighted.

We found consent was gained in an appropriate way and people were well informed about their intended x-ray scan and potential risks and the benefits. We found the procedure formed part of the person's dental treatment plan and was a valuable part of people's treatment in supporting the dentist with their interventions.

We found the environment of the service to be visibly clean and hand wash facilities were easily accessible. We found staff were supported in their role and had access to training courses. We also found the provider had not had any complaints in three years and the processes in place enabled complaints to be handled appropriately.
