29th October 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

During this visit we inspected the regulatory activities of treatment of disease, disorder and injury, diagnostic and screening and surgical procedures.

Everyone we spoke with said they were happy with the service provided at the clinic. One person told us "The dentist always listens". Another person said the practice offered "Courtesy and consideration in the way they provided care". We were told patients were referred to specialists when appropriate. People were able to express their views and they were listened to. We were shown examples of how patients complaints were listened to and resolved. .

The practice was clean and well maintained. Systems were in place, such as staff training, infection control procedures and audits to ensure the spread of infection was reduced. Patients confirmed they had always found the practice to be "Well kept".

The practice followed corporate recruitment policies. The recruitment manager was supported by the central human resource department. We saw evidence to indicate recruitment checks were undertaken before staff began work. However, we saw one case where a current Disclosure and Barring Service check had not been obtained and this was brought to the provider's attention.
